The Department of Medical Imaging of Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University is one of the Hebei Province Medical Key discipline. It was the group of master degree programs approved by the Ministry of Education. It also has a doctorate program, and a mobile post-doctoral station. The department has a complete discipline echelon and excellent talent reserve that consists of PhDs and Masters. There are currently 47 doctors, 43 technicians, 15 nurses, and 2 computer engineers working in the department. The staff include 13 chief physicians and professors, 13 deputy chief physicians and associate professors, and all the doctors mentioned above have master degrees. There is a doctoral supervisor who enjoys State Council Special Allowance and Provincial Management, 6 master supervisors, 11 PhDs, and 5 post-doctorates. The Department of Medical Imaging is among the advanced level of medical imaging departments in the China, and leads the field in Hebei Province.

The department has 7 sub-specialties, including Head and Neck, Thorax, Abdomen, Bones and Muscles, Pediatric, Gastrointestinal, and Interventional Catheterization. There are two 3.0T MR scanners, two 1.5T MR scanners, one 256-slice helical CT scanner, two 64-slice helical CT scanners, two 16-slice helical CT scanners, one 8-slice helical CT scanner, four large digital X-ray angiography machines, three digital tablet gastrointestinal machines, four bedside mobile DRs, PACS systems, and other advance equipment. A complete PACS system was established to enable image resource sharing. The department is capable of providing advance examinations and treatments, such as functional MR imaging, MR angiography, coronary CTA, CT perfusion imaging, coronary/ cerebrovascular interventional therapy, and ERCP.

The perfection of social security in China has promoted the public’s need and standard for medical service. As a result, the number of patients in our hospital increased by 100% every 5 years. The Medical Imaging Department vigorously developed its infrastructure construction, and established a second imaging department in the Cardiovascular Building in 2012. The new department is equipped with a 64-slice helical CT scanner, a 3.0T MR scanner, two large angiography machines, and two bedside machines. The East Side Hospital is equipped with a 64-slice helical CT scanner, a 3.0T MR scanner, two large angiography machines, a bedside X-ray machine, a gastrointestinal machine, and two DR machines. There are also 20 medical staff, training to strengthen Hebei Province’s medical imaging team.
