Since the establishment of the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University in 1918, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, after nearly a hundred years of development and the construction of several generations, has become a large, professional, comprehensive outstanding subject in Hebei province.There are 35 doctors in gynecology department, including 13 chief doctors/professors, 2 associate chief doctors/associate professors, 8 attending doctors and 12 residents. There are 11 master tutors, 2 doctoral supervisors and 1 provincial expert, 1 expert enjoyed special government allowances, 2 doctors worked in the national academic community, 15 doctors worked in the Hebei province academic groups, 5 experts served in the editorial board of the national and provincial level journals. There are 38 nurses, including chief superintendent nurses, nurses-in-charge and nurses.The academic leaders of the department of gynecology has served as chairman of the Obstetrics and Gynecology branch and the family planning branch of Hebei Medical Association. Wang Huilan, second-grade professor, has undertaken 3 provincial-level scientific research projects, acquired 4 provincial scientific research awards, and published 19 papers and 2 books. Professor Wang served as  standing committee member of the Obstetrics and Gynecology branch of Chinese Medical Association, and one of directors of Chinese Obstetricians and Gynecologists Association（COGA）. Huang Xianghua, second-grade professor and doctoral supervisor, has served as director of the department and committee member of many academic organizations. Professor Huang is in executive editor board of Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journal of Practical Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chinese Journal of Family Planning & Gynecology. She is reviewer of International Urogynecology Journal, Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. What’s more, she is reviewer of National Natural Science Foundation of China（NSFC） and primary investigator of 3 NSFC Projects. Chen Suqin, master tutor, has published dozens of articles and 3 books. Professor Chen is in editorial advisory board of Chinese Journal of minimally invasive surgery, International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.The key members in the department majors in many subject directions, such as general gynecology, gynecological oncology, cervical lesions, pelvic and genital deformities, and gynecologic endocrine and assisted reproductive, family planning and other aspects. They have solid knowledge of basic theory, surgical techniques and abundant clinical experience and skill. They play an important role in clinical and teaching work.Our department focus on communication and study of specialized talents training and professional technology. In the recent years, several doctors were sent for PhD degree, such as Jiangjing, Shi Shuhong, Wu Yanjing and Xu Chunlin. Shi Shuhong was sent to study at the Department of gynecology of University of Pennsylvania for half a year. Wu Yanjing learned in gynecology at McMaster University in Canada for 3 years. The young and middle-aged doctors participated in the national continuing medical education project, absorbed the advanced medical technology in various countries and regions, improved the overall skills of the team, and strengthened the overall strength of our department.The Department has relieved many sufferers, saved lives, and has made the outstanding contribution to the happiness of millions of families. At the same time, the department undertakes medical treatment, teaching and scientific research, physicians training as well as the Hebei Province Department of Obstetrics and gynecology residency standardized training and other important tasks. There are   outpatient, colposcopy room, hysteroscopy room, pelvic floor rehabilitation therapeutic room, outpatient operation room, laboratory and other divisions. In recent years, new technology and other new projects have been imported, such as laparoscopic CO2 laser therapy for endometriosis, urodynamics, biofeedback rehabilitation, endometrial ablation surgery, single port laparoscopy.
