Department of Chinese traditional surgery of The Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University was established in 1975. It was originally set up by the medical staff of the Department of Surgery. After that, Chinese medicine practitioners and the Chinese and Western professionals joined in. Under the leadership of previous directors and the persisted effort of overall medical staff, we developed into a promising professional clinical department consisting of medical, nursing and traditional Chinese medicine staff and can carry out outpatient and ward consultation work from only three staff at the beginning.

Our department sets an outpatient and treatment room, and an independent Chinese medicine preparation room. On September 16, 1998, the “Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and surgery Research Laboratory of Hebei Province” approved by the Hebei Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established mainly by Chinese medicine surgery. There are 5 medical staff in our department, 1 chief physician, 3 deputy chief physicians and 1 attending physician.

"With our hard work, in exchange for the health of patients", it is the service tenet of all our staff . In recent years, we have undertaken a number of provincial-level Chinese medicine and Chinese-Western medicine research projects, and won the provincial scientific and technological progress award four times. In the national core journals and statistical source journals, more than 40 research papers, more than 50 other research papers, and one monograph on medical journals  were published.

Our department uses the Chinese medicine dialectical argumentation, external application of TCM for removing slough and promoting growth of tissue regeneration, and we use traditional Chinese medicine combine external application to treat various sores (including postoperative wound healing, hemorrhoids, pressure sores, diabetic foot, etc.) , various breast diseases (including lactating mastitis, plasma cell mastitis, granulomatous mastitis, breast hyperplasia, breast pain, etc.), various body surface infections (including lymphadenitis, erysipelas, mumps, phlebitis , cellulitis, sputum, hemorrhoids, sputum, etc.), anorectal disease, etc. All diseases mentioned above achieved good results, and we are praised by patients.
