The department of orthodontics of the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University is a professional department specializing in clinical, scientific research and teaching of orthodontics. It is an independent department that has been gradually developed from the department of Stomatology of the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University. After decades of continuous development, it has formed a complete discipline team composed of doctors and masters and excellent talent reserve. Currently, there are 11 medical (technical) staff, including 3 chief physicians and professors, 3 doctors, 6 masters, 1 doctoral supervisor and 3 master supervisors. Many of them have visited or studied abroad.

With the philosophy of science, preciseness and honesty, supported by advanced technology and equipment, the orthodontics department adheres to systematic and regular operating procedures, and insists on providing high-quality and high-level medical services for patients, ranking the leading position in Hebei province. The medical staff of our department pay attention to the continuous improvement of theoretical level and technical ability and can deal with a variety of complex orthodontic diseases, enjoying a high reputation in Hebei province and surrounding areas.

Many patients come to our department for treatment, and most of them are difficult cases. Patients come from Beijing, Tianjin, Shanxi, Shandong, Henan and other provinces and cities.

Clinical work:

Currently, the department offer all kinds of malocclusion deformity of orthodontic treatments in the department of orthodontics, including: malocclusion deformity comprehensive orthodontic treatment, early treatment of children's jaw bone dysplasia, periodontal disease orthodontic treatments, the temporomandibular joint disorders of orthodontic research, are jaw surgery in the preoperative and postoperative orthodontic treatment, treatments of the sleep apnea treatment, teeth micro-maxillary deformity of cleft lip and palate orthodontic treatment, the orthodontic of treatment for facial asymmetry, treatments of the maxillary teeth, low elongation of molar teeth, molar tooth occlusal disorders after missing teeth after orthodontic treatment, trauma of fixed and increased traction, etc. The medical staff in our department have solid basic knowledge and exquisite basic skills, and have developed various straight wire arch technology, low friction technology, various functional orthodontic device technology and multiple curved wire arch orthodontic technology and so on in the province. They have also mastered a number of international advanced orthodontic technology and has taken the lead in carrying out oral implant support technology, self-locking groove orthodontic technology, tongue side orthodontic technology, invisible orthodontic technology.

Scientific research and teaching:

All orthodontists have received domestic or foreign training, rich experience, solid theoretical knowledge, with a high degree. It has trained many postgraduates and doctors and has carried out basic and clinical research on adhesives, implant anchorage and periodontal disease.

They have published more than 70 papers and SCI papers in national professional journals. They have won one third prize of science and technology progress of Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, two first prizes of science and technology progress of Hebei Provincial Department of Health, and two second prizes. They have successfully completed 2 scientific research projects of the Ministry of Personnel, 6 projects of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, 1 scientific research project of the Provincial Department of Education, multiple scientific research projects of the Provincial Department of Health, and multiple school-level projects. At present, we have undertaken 1 National Natural Science Fund project, 5 Provincial Science and Technology Department projects, multiple Provincial Health Department projects and multiple hospital level projects.

Medical equipment:

The department of orthodontics has 8 imported comprehensive treatment units, 1 spot welding machine, a variety of supporting implant related equipment, a German positive pressure film pressing machine, and a modern software for diagnosis and analysis of malocclusion malformation (winceph), which can quickly and accurately carry out digital measurement of malocclusion malformation and predict the treatment effect of malocclusion malformation.
