Department of Neurology was first established in Hebei province in 1954. We are the national key clinical specialty, provincial specialized subject clot and provincial key clinical subject. Pro. Li Chunyan, our academic pacesetter, is the only academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in neurology at home.
We have 235 authorized beds, 286 actual open beds. Our annual volume of outpatient and emergency visits is over 100 thousand, annual discharge patients are over 7000. We have 211 staff altogether, out of which 75 are physicians, 1 is academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, 4 doctoral supervisors, 27 postgraduate tutors and 115 are nursing staff which including 4 co-chief superint endent nurse, 16 nurse in charge and four master-degree nurses. We own a top-grade laboratory of neurology at home, and it was elected as provincial key laboratory in Hebei in 2001,
and it became the laborat ory construction unit co-established by t he province and the ministry in 2010. We are the leading at home in the diagnosis, treatment and basic research of eight sub-group, and our diagnosis, treatment and research of degenerative diseases of nervous system are leading the world. By 2015, we shouldered 16 research projects of National Natural Science Foundation, 3 National key scientific research projects, 2 National High Technology Researches and Development Projects (Program 863), 3 sub-projects of “Eleventh Five-Year” of the Ministry
of Science and Technology and 3 Chinese Youth National Natural Science Foundation projects. We are awarded two second class prize of The State Scientific and Technological Progress Award. We published over 1400 papers regarding our research achievements on professional publications, including hundred papers collected by SCI.
