The first shoulder arthroscopy completed by the department of orthopedics in the second hospital of Hebei Medical University
On September 7th, under the leadership of Director Ma Wei, the department of orthopedics successfully performed the first shoulder arthroscopy surgery for a 50-year-old female patient. The postoperative recovery was satisfactory.
Ms Shi, 50 years old, was admitted to hospital with pain in her left shoulder for three months. After admission, the left rotator cuff injury was diagnosed based on medical history, symptoms and signs, and auxiliary examination. Under the leadership of Director Ma Wei, withdiscussion of the department, they decided to give the patient a shoulder arthroscopy treatment. Because the operation has special position and anesthesia requirements, the anesthesiology department is actively contacted before surgery, and the anesthesia method of general anesthesia plus brachial plexus can not only meet the requirements of lowering blood pressure during operation, but also reduce the high-water pressure caused by intraoperative shoulder joint, so it can reduce postoperative discomfort. Under the strong support of Kang Rongtian, the director of the anesthesiology department and Gao Jingui, the deputy director, Zhang Hua and Fan Zhiyong, deputy chief physicians of orthopedic successfully completed the operation. There was no obvious postoperative discomfort, and Ms Shi began functional exercise on the second day after the operation. The pain of the left shoulder joint was relieved after operation.
Arthroscopic technique is a relatively popular minimally invasive technique. Minimally invasive treatment and precision treatment are the current development direction of surgery. The characteristics are: small incision, small trauma, quick recovery, less pain, and low cost. The department of orthopedics in our hospital successfully completed the first shoulder arthroscopic surgery in 2 hours on the basis of familiar anatomy and guaranteed by a large amount of experience in surgery.
Due to the shoulder joint cavity is small, and the arthroscopic field of view is very different from the conventional incision surgery field of view, it is a surgical method that is completely different from the traditional surgery, which requires a high technical level of doctors and needs to be performed by specially trained and experienced doctors. The successful completion of the first shoulder arthroscopy marks the entry of a minimalist level of orthopedics in our hospital into a higher level!
