Department of Ophthalmology was one of the earliest established departments of Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University. Prestigious ophthalmologists, Pro. Liang Shujin and Pro. Liao Jusheng, are the first directors of Department of Ophthalmology that led a cutting edge in fundus angiography.
Hebei Oculopathy Control and Prevention Center was established in 1996, and it was approved both as provincial key medical subject in 2001 and provincial key medical subject and one of the earliest batches of national key clinical specialties in 2012.
Currently there are 35 physicians, 63 nurses, and 7 technicians in our group, out of which are 16 chief physicians,8 associate physicians. All physicians are entitled with master or Ph.D. degree. There are one doctoral tutor, 21 postgraduate tutors, 14 with a doctoral degree and 1 with post-doctor degree. All these excellent staff made us a domestic-advanced and provincial-leading team. The building of ophthalmology department was put into use in 2014. We have 3 ward areas, 150 beds, 5 separate ophthalmic operating rooms. Our department also equipped with FFA room, A/ B ultrasound room , UBM examination room, perimetr y examination room, electricity physiology inspection room, OCT examination room, specular microscope room, multiple ocular optics examination room, pathology laboratory, excimer laser treating room and laser therapy room, which provide us with the full power for the diagnosis, treatment and research of all kinds of
oculopathies.
