Department of Oral and maxillofacial surgery
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University is developed from the original Stomatology Department. We are a professional team with a long history and a youthful atmosphere. The famous oral cavity expert Professor Chen Ruimei set up our department in the early days of the hospital. Our department started to recruits master students in stomatology very early in China. At the moment, we have developed into a second-level discipline with complete construction of sub-specialties. The number of chairs, beds, outpatients and inpatients ranks in the forefront of Hebei Province. The sub-specialties of Hebei Province are comprehensively constructed, with a large number of medical personnel and a high-level education. After years of hard work, a discipline with excellent academics, exquisite clinical skills, solid scientific research foundation and comprehensive strength and enjoys a high reputation in Hebei province was formed.
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was established in 1979, under the leadership of Professor Chen Ruimei, Professor Wang Zhisan and Professor Li Changgui, we have taken the lead in the treatment of malignant tumors such as oral cancer and oropharyngeal cancer in the province, and major surgery such as cervical lymph node dissection and parotidectomy. We are also the first to carry out free skin graft on pectoralis major myocutaneous flap, sternocleidomastoid myocutaneous flap, platysma musculocutaneous flap, buccal fat pad, and rib, iliac bone graft on for repairing maxillofacial defects after tumor operations. The sequence treatment of cleft lip and palate was initially carried out. At present, our academic leader is Professor Zhang Yinghuai. On the basis of the original work, he led us carried out many advanced surgeries. Including vascular pedicle of the free radial forearm flap,Tibial musculoskeletal flap, tibial musculoskeletal flap, and other operations for repairing maxillofacial defects after tumor operation and Ear nerve transplantation for repairing facial nerve defects after tumor operation.which standardized and institutionalized the diagnosis and treatment procedures for oral and maxillofacial tumors. And pioneering new technologies and new projects such as immediate planting of artificial implants and partial costal cartilage repair after nasal cleft lip surgery. Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery actively carried out clinical research work, and won the first prize of Hebei Province Science and Technology Progress Award once, the third prize once, and the Hebei Provincial Health Department Achievement Award three times. At present, we are undertaking 5 provincial projects, and a series of studies on osteoclast series, the active ingredients of botanical drugs for the treatment of oral cancer, parotid gland cancer and clinical research, artificial implant foundation and clinical research was formed. Since the establishment of our department, we began to undertake the teaching and internships in oral and maxillofacial surgery and stomatology imaging In the past three years, we train 2-3 training doctors and 4-6 graduate students each year. There are 23 beds in our department, more than 1,000 people are treated, more than 800 operations, and over 15,000 outpatients and over 1000 emergencies each year. The clinical, scientific research and teaching level of Department of oral and maxillofacial surgery has been at the forefront of the country.
At present, there are 8 chief physicians and professors, 3 deputy chief physicians and associate professors.
Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is at the forefront of the province with superb technology in the following medical treatment projects.
We carried out various tooth extraction (extraction), especially complex tooth extraction and combined tooth extraction with systemic diseases under ECG; pre-repair surgery and frenoplasty.
2. Craniomaxillofacial implantation
Immediate and delayed planting of artificial implants, bone grafting with complex implants, maxillary sinus lift, and reconstruction of craniofacial defects.
3. Oral and maxillofacial infections
Drugs and surgical methods for the treatment of wisdom tooth pericoronitis, maxillofacial space infection, osteomyelitis of the jaw, facial and neck lymphadenitis and facial paralysis and other infectious diseases.
4. Oral and maxillofacial injury
Treatment of various soft tissue trauma in the oral and maxillofacial region, tooth and alveolar bone injury, jaw bone, humerus, zygomatic arch fracture and maxillofacial burn.
5. Oral and maxillofacial tumor
We have carried out a variety of surgeries on oral and maxillofacial tumors, including various oral cancer, oropharyngeal cancer, salivary gland tumor, odontogenic tumor, hemangioma, lymphangioma, jaw cyst, cleft palate cyst, sebaceous cyst.
6. Parotid gland disease
Treatment of mumps, suppurative mumps, parotid duct stones, parotid gland and parotid autoimmune diseases and cysts.
7. Temporomandibular joint disease
Diagnosis and treatment of axillary joint disorder syndrome, joint dislocation, joint rigidity (open mouth limitation)
8. Neurological disorder
Treatment of trigeminal neuralgia and peripheral facial paralysis
9. Congenital cleft lip and palate and facial fissure deformity
Surgical treatment of congenital cleft lip and palate, facial fissure deformity, speech training after cleft palate, plastic deformity after cleft lip surgery.
10. Dental and maxillofacial deformity
Orthognathic surgery is used to correct bone and maxillofacial deformities that cannot be treated with orthodontics.
11. Abdominal and maxillofacial acquired deformities and defects
Skin grafting, bone grafting and various tissue flaps were used to repair maxillofacial deformities and defects caused by surgery and trauma.
12. Stomatological radiology examination
We can take oral cone beam CT, curved tomogram, cephalometric sheet, apical slice, occlusal piece, mandibular lateral slice, mandibular ascending branch tangential slice, transpharyngeal lateral slice and so on.
