The department of oral medicine is an independent department gradually developed from the department of stomatology of the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University.

Since the establishment of the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University, the department of stomatology has been set up which is responsible for the medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and professional training in the Hebei province.

In 1979, the school of medicine approved the establishment of the department of stomatology with offices located in the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University. In 1984, the department of oral medicine became an independent department and continued to develop and expand.

At present, the outpatient department has 14 advanced dental comprehensive treatment units. The department of oral medicine has 20 medical (technical) personnel, including 5 chief physicians and professors, 5 associate chief physicians and associate professors, 5 doctors and 12 masters.
